Golf Outing to be held on Monday, September 21, 2009 at Olde Vine
Golf Club in Riverhead, NY. The proceeds from this special event
will benefit a Long Island based disabled Military Veteran returning
from the War on Terror in the Middle East.
Our unique event allows you and your company to show its patriotism
and appreciation … and to say, “Thank You!” to
a returning veteran of the Gulf War. From your contributions, we
will set up a Trust Fund to provide assistance with living expenses
or to fulfill some of their special needs since their return from
active duty.
Working with the Northport Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center,
we have identified a Long Island based, seriously wounded U.S.
Marine to be the recipient of the proceeds from this event! Our
hero was severely wounded in the Gulf approximately four years
ago. He was born and raised on Long Island and is now 28 years
old. He has a great attitude, full of vim and vigor and wants
to move ahead in his life by continuing his education and skill
sets to prepare him for the future. He has been part of the Wounded
Warriors program, which helps disabled veterans coming home. Out
of respect for his privacy, we have agreed to allow him anonymity.
Tom Cook and Corey Jordan have met our hero and have established
a relationship which is hopefully going to significantly impact
his life.
For the last four years, our hero has been receiving care for
his wounds and is facing many more years of treatment. He has
decided to go back to college this fall. While the government
is paying for his education costs, not all his expenses and needs
will be covered.
Through this golf outing a trust will be set up to take care
of some of these additional costs and needs.
